11/7 Sengoku 11 - Fight Order

Sengoku have announced the fight order for their event next weekend, they have split the main-event making it a double main-event, but Omigawa vs. Hioki is the last fight on the card.

I think this is one of the stronger card this year, and I cant wait for it. Stanislav Nedkov and Shigeki Osawa have some very tough fights and a great chance to make a name for themselves. So does the Polish fighter, Mamed Khalidov who is making his Sengoku debut against Jorge Santiago.

There are so many good fights on this card, and it is hard to pick one as the best. But I am really lookinjg forward to Yokota vs. Mitsuoka and Sandro vs. Hoshino, could really have mentioned all the fights on the main card there...

11/8 Pancrase Changing Tour 7 - Fight Order

The fight order for the 8. November event in Azelea Taisho Hall, Osaka have been announced.

The veteran, Takafumi Ito will take on Takahiro Kajita in what will be the main event.

There are also 5 Pancrase Gate fights announced as a bonus for those who make their way there. Of course there will be goods on sale too, a bonus is that Yoshiro Maeda will be there signing and selling stuff from DREAM 12.

Tickets will be 6 500yen and 5 500yen at the door, they start selling at 14:30. If you buy upfront it is 500yen cheaper (or a beer).

12/19 DEEP Cage Impact 2009 - Fights Announced

Deep announced the first few matchups for the DEEP Cage Impact card. It looks like there will be a bit of a Japan vs. Guam theme.

Some very interesting fights announced, DEEP will look to get a light-heavyweight champion and the Bernard Ackah against Shunji Kosaka will have a central role in this (I am guessing it is an eliminator for a title fight).

It will be a big event for DEEP and a lot of their star fighters will participate. Announced to make his return is Hirohide Fujinuma who last fought back in DEEP 23, almost 4 years ago. If I am not mistaken the last fight ended in a very nasty armbar.

12/6 Pancrase Changing Tour 8 - Title Fight Announced

Pancrase have announced that they will close out the Changing Tour with a title fight, Ryo Kawamura, the light-heavyweight champion will take on Shunsuke Inoue. Inoue is a judoka and on a 3 fight winning streak, and he is always ready to trade. Kawamura is much the same, so this fight will be fireworks and I hope it goes the distance. I dont think this will go to the ground. Much like Kawamura's last title fight, one of the best fights of 2008.

Jewels have announced some fights and participants for their 6th events.

Jewels are continuing to sign attractive fighters an this time former model Yumiko Inoue will take on Misaki Ozawa.

The "Rough Stone GP" have reached the finals and they will be interesting. German Alexandra Sanchez was the first to defeat Shizuka Sugiyama, earning the place in the final. In the final she will take on Tomoko Morii, who has 2 fights and her only loss was to Megumi Fujii.

11/8 Pancrase Changing Tour - Fights Announced

Pancrase is finishing the year by haveing 2 events in the next 2 months. They have announced fights for both cards, but I will take the November 8 card in Osaka first. As usual, it will be in the Azelea Taisho Hall in Osaka.

The Osaka events have some regulars that are on here again, Daisuke Hanazawa and "Strasser" Kunimoto are usually on these events. Both are very good fighters and Hanazawa is still the only fighter to defeat Maximo Blanco (DQ doesnt count).

Super veteran Takafumi Ito is also on the card, he has been fighting since 1995 but is on a 2 fight losing streak.

10/25 Pancrase Changing Tour - Results

A interesting event in Differ Ariake earlier today. Pancrase legend Yuki Kondo steped into the ring against Yuji Hisamatsu. Another highlight was the flyweight title fight between champion Mitsuhisa Sunabe and Isao Hirose. The champion again defended against a very promising challenger.

In addition to that, the popular Seiya Kawahara extende his winning streak after his loss in the Sengoku tournament.

Ichiro Kanai KO'ed the veteran "Kei" Yamamiya in less than a minute, and Isao Kobayashi is still undefeated after a DQ win against Hiroki Aoki.

FEG have had a big night with DREAM 12, and it will continue tomorrow when they hold the final of this year's K-1 World Max tournament.

10/25 DREAM 12 - RESULTS

The event in the "White Cage" is underway, and I will be giving you the results live here.

It will be an interesting event, personally, I am looking forward to seeing DEEP champion against Eddie Alvarez but there are lots of fights to look forward to here!

1. Feather: Keisuke Fujiwara 7-1-3 vs. 12-5-6 Tomoya Miyashita
Miyashita has been controling the fight so far, getting it to the ground. Fujiwara so far been unable to pose much of an offence. Round 3 is closer, Fujiwara close with a triangle attempt.

Miyashita gets the decision 3-0

2. Light: "Parky" Won Sik Park 7-1-1 vs. 15-6-0 Kuniyoshi Hironaka
"Parky" controling the distance in round 1. Has Hironaka damaged, but no real danger.

"Parky" throws in the towel in the break. Looks like an eye injury. Hironaka gets the TKO win!

3. Feather: Yoshiro Maeda 25-7-2 vs. 12-5-0 Chase Beebe
Maeda comes out hard, Beebe is backing up and then gets the fight to the ground. Maeda is able to get up. Maeda takes Beebe down and comes out on top. Maeda gets Beebe's back and the rear-naked choke is very tight, Beebe taps.

Maeda rear-naked choke Round 1.

4. Middle: Yoon Dong Sik 4-7-0 vs. 7-1-0 Tarec Saffiedine
Saffedine takes it to the ground of the back of a Dong takedown attempt, on top but the ref stands it up. Dong is not able to take Saffiedine down and it is a very close fight so far.

Saffiedine looks in in control early in round 2, then Dong takes it down and is on top. Dong controls the fight and gets the back, Saffiedine does well to survive the round.

The final round is all standing, Dong unable to take it to the ground. Saffiedine is the better fighter standing, and it will be a close decision.

Yoon Dong Sik gets the decision 2-1! The domination on the ground is round 2 was enough.

Sakuraba takes it down and goes for a leg lock. Galesic is managing to resist and is pounding Sakuraba hard. It looks like Galesic is going to pound Sakuraba out, but Sakuraba is not letting go of the leg. Finally he gets the leg straightened and the kneebar is tight. Galesic taps very quickly and he looks injured.

Zaromskis is a huge favorite here, but I would not underestimate Bae.

Zaromskis came out running, but Bae counters with a right. Zaromskis is stunned and steps back, then comes back with a left high-kick and Bae goes down. Zaromskis is taking Crocop's reputation!

As always, Kikuno comes out to "We are the world".

Kikuno is coming out in the traditional Kyokushin stands. Eddie tries a takedown, but Kikuno squashes it and has a neckcrank going. Alvarez gets out, but looks hurt. Eddie not able to take the fight to the ground, Kikuno has a small cut. Kikuno hits with his trademark bodykick just as the bell rings. Alvarez has not been able to get the fight down, and is looking a little tired.

Kikuno goes down from a right, but bounces right up. Alvarez takes it to the ground and attempts a guillotine choke. Alvarez is giving it his all, but Kikuno pops out. They stand up. Both fighters are looking tired and Alvarez takes it down again. Alvarez secures an armtriangle and Kikuno taps. Awesome fight!

10/25 DREAM 12 - Fight Order

FEG have announced the fight order for DREAM 12, which will take place in the White Cage in Osaka. Personally, I am really looking forward to seeing how that looks and there are some very interesting fights on the card too.

The main event this time goes to the heavyweight battle between Alistair Overeem and James Thompson. Overeem have been looking great lately, and is therefore a huge favorite, but Thompson always gives it a 100% and it will be an entertaining fight.

Personally, I am really looking forward to seeing DEEP champion Katsunori Kikuno take on Eddie Alvarez. I think it is the best matchup of this event, and it should be a very competitive fight.

It is also confirmed that Tarec Saffiedine will step in for Paulo Filho on short notice. No easy fight for Dong and it is another fight to look forward to on this card.

10/24 Cage Force - Results

GCM also held a Cage Force event after Valkyrie earlier in the day, headlined by olympic medalist Katsuhiko Nagata taking on a very talented fighter in Daisuke Hoshino. The co-main event saw the very popular grappler Tetsu Suzuki take on the colourful Isao Terada.

A fighter to look for on this card is Hideto Kondo, he is fighting out of Mach Dojo and "Mach" Sakurai himself believes he has a bright future. He won his fight here, and I am sure he will be looking to build on that in the future.

Valkyrie held their 3rd event earlier today. Not the biggest card they have had, and suffering the loss of a fight with just days to meant that the card had 7 fights.

Most of the favorites took home the win, but there were a few upsets (IMO), debutant Naoko Sugiyama defeated Paraestra Matsudo's Madoka Ebihara. Another debutant that got a good start to the career was "Ayame" Miura.

10/25 DREAM 12 - James Thompson Added - Filho out!

FEG have today announced the opponent for Alistair Overeem for the this Sundays event in Osaka. James Thompson have been rumored to take the fight, and that has now been confirmed.

Both these fighters are popular with the Japanese crowd, and I think it will be an entertaining fight.

This card has had some setbacks and are missing a few of the fighters that were announced to participate. FEG have had to face some critizism for that, but I think and hope this card delivers.

The card should now be complete, with 9 fights.

Because this card is so close to Sengoku 11, I have added a servey, which card do you think is better? (on the right)

10/24 GCM Cage Force and Valkyrie 03 - Fight Order

GCM will have a double header in Differ Ariake on Saturday. First up are the female fighters when Valkyrie holds their 3rd event.

The card suffered a loss though, when Izumi Noguchi had to step down from her fight with Emi Fujino due to injury. It is now a 7 fight event, and the question is if Valkyrie is fighting a losing "battle" with Jewels. They do have some popular fighters on the card though, "Sachi" will have some fans in the crowd for sure and will Naoko Omuro.

11/7 Sengoku 11 - Fights added

Sengoku added 2 fights yesterday, and I not yet updated the card for this event. Sengoku have really put together an interesting card here, especially the featherweight fights.

Also one of my favorite, Stanislav Nedkov, gets the biggest fight of his career so far. In addition to that, Mamed Khalidov gets his shot at the Sengoku champion (in a non title fight).

Shooto have lost a big attraction for their Vale Tudo Japan card, Joe Warren is out, and Rumina Sato will instead face another American wrestler in Cory Grant. The undefeated Team Quest fighter should be a good challenge for Rumina who needs a win.

Also added is a fight between Shooto's rookie tournament champion from 2008, Kosuke Eda. Eda is yet to win a fight in 2008, and he will be taking on Makoto Sannai, another talented fighter.

11/23 Shooto Revolutionary Excanges 3 - "Amazon" Returns!

Some awesome fights are announced for Revolutionary Exchanges 3, they were announced yesterday, but I was not sure for which event. Anyway, the specialist grappler "Amazon" Sugie returns after 4 years away to take on Paolo Milano. This fight will be a highlight for Shooto fans that have been waiting for "Amazon" to return.

I am also happy to see Yoshihiro Koyama return to Shooto after doing very well in Cage Force. He lost his shot at the title against Hironaka and will be looking to bounce back against a very experienced opponent in Tetsuji Kato.

10/25 DREAM 12 - Sakuraba vs. Galesic Announced!

FEG have announced that Kazushi Sakuraba will step in for an injured Melvin Manhoef to take on Zelg Galesic in the upcoming DREAM 12.

Returning is the DREAM champion, Marius Zaromskis in a non-title fight he is taking on Korean Myeon Ho Bae.

The very popular pro-wrestler Katsuyori Shibata is taking on Tokimitsu Ishizawa, who is returning to the ring for the first time since 2006. This should be a war of the veterans, and I am sure the Japanese crowd will be excited about this one.

Also added to this event is ZST fighter Keisuke Fujiwara agaist DEEP fighter Tomoya Miyashita.

Pancrase held their 5th Changing tour event yesterday in front of a sold out crowd in Shinjuku Face.

The main event saw the #1 ranked welterweight in Pancrase, Tomoyoshi Iwamiya, take on the relatively inexperienced Shingo Suzuki. But on this occation youth got the better of experience. Suzuki might have fought his way into a position to be the next to challenge the champion Takuya Wada.

12/19 DEEP Cage Impact 2009

One of the big news I have missed is the DEEP Cage Impact participants announced. This event will take place in Differ Ariake, not the usual Korakuen Hall.

Announced as participants are some very big DEEP names: Masakazu Imanari, Nobuhiro Obiya and Koichiro Matsumoto to name 3.

The cage for this event is a gold 8-sided cage and it will be rented out at a resonable price after his.

There are also changes to the rules in the cage: Elbows, stomps and soccerkicks are allowed except the opening fights.

Been a while...

Its been a while since I have been able to post... I have had an infection that has kept me out of anything fun for over a month. I am finally starting to recover and hope to get on top of most of the new things.

I will assume that people know most of the result, and I will just make it a new start. There are a lot of interesting things happening in Japan, with DREAM 12 being in a cage AND DEEP too jumping on the cage wagon with an awesome card!

Early in the first round Hasegawa dislocates his shoulder after being thrown to the mat, giving Nagakura the win.

○Crazy Hill vs ×Okamoto Hiryu
Crazy Hill wins by decsision after controlling most of the fight's tempo with punches and middle kicks.

○Kitada Toshiaki vs ×Kleber Koike
Kitada submitted Koike early in rund 2 by arm-bar. Kitada was stonger, but Kleber did a good job, fighting aggressively from a standing position compared to his appearance in DEEP 42 Impact.

○Shirai Yuya vs ×Iwase Shigetoshi
Another close fight got the crowd pumped up. Both fighters stuck mainly with a hard punching gameplan with Shirai throwing in some kicks as well. Several takedowns and superior position control on the ground gave the win to Shirai.

Straight out of the gate the more experienced Kanehara gets a ground and pound on Miyazawa quickly winning with a TKO.

○Sakurai Ryuta vs ×Hosea Ware
Both fighters traded off some heavy punches early in the 1st round. A little later they clinch up near the ropes and Ware sends Sakurai through the ropes. Once the fight restarts it moves to a ground game with Sakurai getting side control. Sakurai's move from an arm-lock to a straight armbar gets him the win.






○Hasegawa Hidehiko vs ×Ueyama Ryuki
Ueyama led the fight in striking with hard hitting middle kicks and some long hooks but Hasegawa was able to control the tempo of the match with his ground game. In the end Hasegawa won by decision but he came very close to getting a tap with an achilles lock.





○MIKU vs 　×Windy Tomomi
The women's co-main event was high speed action from start to finish. WINDY was able to get off some low kicks that left MIKU with some mean welts on her thighs. MIKU however was able to do some striking of her own and was able to get several takedowns. MIKU gave some big knee-drops to the WINDY's ribs before getting the win.





○Kawaguchi Yusuke 　vs ×Seigo　
The crowd in Korakuen was pumped for the main event. The two heavy-weights went straight into a no-guard slugfest that seemed a little more like pro-wrestling than MMA. Kawaguchi's rushes all but took out the heavier Seigo, but he was able to gain some time clinching up at the ropes and landed a few heavy long hooks but the fight belonged to kawaguchi. By the end of the 1st round Seigo's face was bloodied and Kawaguchi barely looked tired. In the 3rd round Kawaguchi went in with low kicks that Seigo couldn't avoid and just stood there taking them. The crowd responded accordingly with a roar for each kick.

10/6 DREAM 11 - Results

A very strong card from DREAM, and with 2 title fights it might be the best they have put on so far.

On the weigh-in yesterday Miyata turned some heads as the muscular former lightweight turned up with close to no bodyfat.



One of the highlights of this card is the return of DREAM champion Joachim Hansen. He is returning to defend his title, and it will be his first title defence and his first fight since winning the title in July last year.



The DREAM featherweight title holder will also be deceided today in a tournament that is looking very interesting.

10/30 Shooto Vale Tudo Japan 09

Shooto is going to put on one of their biggest events in years with the return of Vale Tudo Japan. Already announced is the fight between Alexandre Franca Nogueira and Shooto champion "Lion" Takeshi. This fight will be undet Vale Tudo Japan rules and 5 rounds of 5 minutes.

Welterweight champion Takashi Nakakura suffered a serious eye injuryu in his loss to Takanori Gomi in May. He has deceided to hand back his title and Williamy Chiquerim will face Kenichiro Togashi for the title.

Also unconfirmed is a fight between Jesse Taitano and Mamoru. Mamoru have been fighting in ShootBoxing lately, and this will be a return that a lot of fans have been looking forward to. But Taitano will not be an easy opponent and it will be a very interesting fight. 10/6 DREAM 11 - Sakuraba Added/Fight Order

This video started the speclations around wether Sakuraba will be fighting in DREAM 11. Sakuraba has not fought since Dynamite! on NYE, and even then he didnt look 100% after breaking his arm against Melvin Manhoef in June 2008.



It has now been confirmed that Sakuraba will take on American pro-boxer Rubin Williams.

This video have also been released. To me the most interesting thing here, except from the fact that "Hellboy" is fired up, is that he seems to be working with Hayato "Mach" Sakurai for this fight (and we all remeber what he did to Aoki...).

10/25 Pancrase Changing Tour - Fights Announced

Pancrase is putting on an awesome card on October 25 in Differ Ariake.

This card has lots of Pancrase stars on it. There will be a flyweight title fight, that should be awesome.

Also added is a very interesting fight between Kenji Arai and Tomonari Kanomata. Also added is fight between Kazuhiro Hamanaka and DEEP megaton competitor Shunsuke Inoue. The card is looking just about finished and this should be a very good event.
