9/13 Jewels 5th Ring - RESULTS

Jewels held their 5th event earlier today, the main event saw Korean veteran Seo Hee Ham take on Misaki Takimoto. Seo Hee Ham had not fought since her loss to Megumi Fuji in SmackGirl over a year ago, and took a decision win improving her record to 5-3. Her only losses are to Megmi Fuji, Yuka Tsuji and Miku Matsumoto.

This event got a little more attention than normal when the popular Mika Nagano posed semi-nude (corrected, I read that and think topless... Have not see the picure yet) for DEEP boss Saeki. The picures went on print in "Friday" and should be in my mailbox soon. The attention did not seem to affect Nagano as she took an impressive first round win.

German Alexandra Sanchez put on a strong performance as the handed the popular Shizuka Sugiyama her first loss.

9/13 JEWELS 5th Ring - Fights Announced

Jewels have announced a couple of fights for their next event. Former SmackGirl champion Megumi Yabushita will be taking on pro-wrestler Atsuko Emoto. Another pro-wrestler, Hikaru Shida will be fighting in a grappling rule fight. He opponent is yet to be announced.

For the Rough Stone GP, German talent Alexandra Sanchez will be taking on the undefeated Shizuka Sugiyama.

9/13 Jewels 5th Ring - Main-Event Announced

Jewels have announced the main event for their 5th ring event, which will take place in Shinjuku Face.

On this card will also be some "Rough Stone GP" fights. Looks like there will be 3 weight classes in this GP, -48kg, -54kg and -60kg. This will be a similar sort of thing to the rookie tournament format (even if there are some familiar names in there), and the goal would be to build a new star.

Anyway, the fight announced today will be the main event, and it features Korean SmackGirl and DEEP veteran, Seo Hee Ham and the very experienced Misaki Takimoto. Seo Hee Ham has 3 losses, but they are to some of the strongest female fighters in the world, Megumi Fuji, Miku Matsumoto and Yuka Tsuji. She holds a win against Hisae Watanabe, and this will be her first fight since April 2008.

Participating in this event will also be the Japanese pro-wrestler Hikaru Shida.

5/16 Jewels 3rd Ring - RESULTS

Jewels had their 3rd event in Shinjuku Face earlier today.

In the main event the tall Japanese fighter, Hiroko took on the American fighter Shannon Hooper. Hiroko got a decision win.

Also on the card was Harumi, going in she was 0-10, now she is 0-11. Hopefully she will get a win soon, and she is certainly showing a lot of heart.

5/16 Jewels 3rd Ring - Fight Order

Jewels have announced the addition of opening fights and the fight order today. A total of 11 fights on the card and lots of interesting fighters on the card. Shannon Hooper is in the main event and she is getting a lot of attention in Japan. She will be taking on "Hiroko", who has done very well against Japanese opponents, her only loss coming to Hitomi Akano.

Making her MMA debut is Norwegian Celina, she will be taking on the very popular Shizuka.

5/16 Jewels 3rd Ring - Fights Added

Jewels have confirmed 3 more fights for their 3rd event, and the card is looking complete.

Added today are 2 ShootBoxing rule fights, with familiar names such as Misato Tomita taking on J-Girls ranked #2 Azuma and Saori Ishioka taking on ShootBoxing fighter Kanako Oka.

There was also a Jewels rules fight added, between T-Blood's Smack Girls veteran Miki Morifuji and Mayu, who made her MMA debut in Jewels 1st Ring.

5/16 JEWELS 3rd Ring- Fights Announced

Jewels have annouced 4 fights for their event on May 16, and there are some intersting additions.

The main event will see "Hiroko" take on the Josh Barnett trained Shannon Hooper. Also on the card is the popular and undefeated Shizuka Sugiyama, she will be taking on one of "Hellboy"'s students in Team Hellboy Hansen, Celina.

It should be a good event in Shinjuku Face, currently there are 8 fights planned and 2 opponents yet to be named. It is interesting to see the attention given to new female fighters in Japan, but Jewels and Valkyrie is doing a good job in getting them on the cards.

5/16 JEWELS 3rd Ring - Card Updated

Jewels 3rd event will include some ShootBoxing fights, and this is a testament to how popular this form of fighting is becoming. Of course there will be the usual Jewels/MMA rules fights as well.

The 2nd event was not the best, but this card is looking interesting. Fighting in the ShootBoxing fights will be ShootBoxer Misato Tomita and the popular MMA veteran Saori Ishioka. The opponents are not yet set.

Also fighting in this event will be the SmackGirls veteran "Hiroko", her opponent is not yet named, but it is said to be a foreign fighter.

Harumi has been in both the JEWELS events so far, she is 0-10 in her career, and she is back to have another go at getting the win. This time she is taking on Chihiro Oikawa and one of them will get their 1st win.

2/4 JEWELS 2 - Fights Announced

JEWELS have announced another couple of fights for their event February 4. This will be held in Shinjuku Face and is the 2nd Jewels event.

It was announced that the experienced fighters Saori Ishioka and Mayumi "Benkei" Aoki will take on 2 debutants. The 20 year old Hanako Kobayashi is a pro-wrestler that will take on the experienced Saori Ishioka. This should be a quick fight for Saori Ishioka.

The other debutant is Chihiro Oikawa, also a debutant and also transitioning from pro-wrestling. She is taking on "benkei", who does not have an impressive record. This fight will probably go the distance.
