3/7 SRC12 - Results

Sunday, 7 March 2010

I will update the results as soon as I have them here. The event is live now, but I am not aware of good places to get live results. I am finding these on japanese twitter accounts.

Hirota has entered the ring, and has returned his belt due to the injury suffered on NYE. He will be a commentator at the next Sengoku event on June 20, and is expecting to be back in the ring in September.

Kanehara is in the ring announcing that he will fight in June. Kanehara askes to fight Sandro. Sandro steps back into the ring saying that he wanted to fight as a Sengoku fighter on NYE, he respects Kanehara but he is #1. He accepts the challenge. I am not sure that it means the fight is official, but at least the fighters agree.

SRC Middleweight Title Fight:
8. Jorge Santiago Def. Mamed Khalidov by decsion 3-0 (48-47, 48-47, 49-47)
*For those waiting for the result: It has gone 2 rounds and it sounds like a close one. Santiago was close with an omoplata attempt at the end of round 2.

The fight is into the last round now!

7. Welter: Akihiro Gono Def. Diego Gonzalez by decison 3-0
6. Light: Maximo Blanco Def. Chang Hyun "Armbar" Kim by KO Round 1
5. Feather: Marlon Sandro Def. Tomonari Kanomata by KO Round 1
4. Heavy: Yoshihiro “KISS” Nakao Def. Henry "Sentoryu" Miller by TKO Round 2
3. Fether: Yuji Hoshino Def. Nick Denis by guillotine choke Round 2

Sengoku have announced the replacement for Wilson Reis, Yuji Hoshino will take on Nick Denis.

Sengoku have also added a fight, the Pancrase champion Marlon Sandro will take on the fighter ranked just behind him in Pancrase, Tomonari Kanomata. That means we wont get to see the fight in Pancrase, but it will be a good one for Pancrase fans.

With those fights official, I am still hoping for 1 or 2 more but with less than 2 weeks to go, this might be the complete card.

Friday, 22 January 2010

Polish organization KSW have announced that one of their favorite fighters, Mamed Khalidov is set for a title fight with Jorge Santiago in the next Sengoku event March 7.

I think everyone remember their last fight, which was a non-title encounter.

I am putting is at rumored, even though this is coming from a very reliable source!

11/7 Sengoku 11 - Results LIVE

Saturday, 7 November 2009

The results I can, will be live. But I think I will miss most of this awesome event today.

I will update live as long as I can. If you want the live results, you can try the discussion thread, otherwise I will updata as soon as I have the chance.

Opening Fight:
1. Bantam: Ryota Uozomi Def. Yuichiro Yajima by armbar Round 2

Main-Card:
2. Feather: Ronnie Ushiwaka Def. Shigeki Osawa by Decision 3-0
Ushikawa shows his experience here. Osawa shows he is a good wrestler, but it was not enough on this occation. Competitive fight and Osawa shows he has a lot of potential.

3. Heavy: Dave Herman Def. "Big" Jim York by KO round 1
"Big" Jim York is controlling the fight standing, then he goes for a achilles hold and Herman gets an opening for heel kicks. "Big" Jim is out.

4. Feather: Marlon Sandro Def. Yuji Hoshino by KO round 1
A big right from the Pancrase champion sends the Cage Force fighter to the ground.

5. Welter: Akihiro Gono Def. Yoon Young Kim by Decision 3-0
After 2 close rounds Gono gets his confidence back in the 3rd. Gono did what he wanted in the 3rd. except finish the fight. Kim showed a lot of heart by staying in the fight.

Gono says he wants a re-match with Hornbuckle, after he gets the title! Gono wants Hornbuckle to be the belt, and be the first to challenge for that!

6. Light-Heavy: Stanislav Nedkov Def. Kevin Randleman by Decision 2-1
A very close fight.

I have to leave now, the rest of the results will be delayed... Sorry about the inconvenience!

7. Light: Kazunori Yokota Def. Eiji Mitsuoka by Decision 3-0

Fight Of The Soul (Intermission, I will guess it is here):
Feather: Tomoaki Ueyama Def. Hirokazu "Bull" Konno by rear-naked choke Round 1

8. Light: Jorge Masvidal Def.Satoru Kitaoka by KO Round 2

Double Main-Event:
9. Middle: Mamed Khalidov Def. Jorge Santiago by KO/TKO hammerfists from the bottom!!

10. Feather: Michihiro Omigawa Def. Hatsu Hioki by Decision 2-1
Good finish to the fight! Hioki looked in control, but Omigawa came strong and never stopped going forward.

For the second time I think the judges give it to Omigawa in a fight I thought he.

11/7 Sengoku 11 - Fight Order

Friday, 30 October 2009

Sengoku have announced the fight order for their event next weekend, they have split the main-event making it a double main-event, but Omigawa vs. Hioki is the last fight on the card.

I think this is one of the stronger card this year, and I cant wait for it. Stanislav Nedkov and Shigeki Osawa have some very tough fights and a great chance to make a name for themselves. So does the Polish fighter, Mamed Khalidov who is making his Sengoku debut against Jorge Santiago.

There are so many good fights on this card, and it is hard to pick one as the best. But I am really lookinjg forward to Yokota vs. Mitsuoka and Sandro vs. Hoshino, could really have mentioned all the fights on the main card there...

Double Main-Event:
11. Feather: Michihiro Omigawa 7-8-1 vs. 20-3-2 Hatsu Hioki
10. Middle: Jorge Santiago 21-7-0 vs. 19-3-1 Mamed Khalidov

9. Light: Satoru Kitaoka 25-9-9 vs. 18-4-0 Jorge Masvidal
8. Light: Kazunori Yokota 10-2-3 vs. 16-6-2 Eiji Mitsuoka

11/7 Sengoku 11 - Fights added

Thursday, 22 October 2009

Sengoku added 2 fights yesterday, and I not yet updated the card for this event. Sengoku have really put together an interesting card here, especially the featherweight fights.

Also one of my favorite, Stanislav Nedkov, gets the biggest fight of his career so far. In addition to that, Mamed Khalidov gets his shot at the Sengoku champion (in a non title fight).

Almost every fight has a world class fighter, and it should be a very good event in Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Feather: Michihiro Omigawa 7-8-1 vs. 20-3-2 Hatsu Hioki
Feather: Marlon Sandro 14-1-0 vs. 16-6-7 Yuji Hoshino
Feather: Shigeki Osawa 4-0-0 vs. 16-2-1 Ronnie Ushiwaka
Light: Kazunori Yokota 10-2-3 vs. 16-6-2 Eiji Mitsuoka
Light: Satoru Kitaoka 25-9-9 vs. 18-4-0 Jorge Masvidal
Middle: Jorge Santiago 21-7-0 vs. 19-3-1 Mamed Khalidov
Light-Heavy: Kevin Randleman 17-13-0 vs. 7-0-0 Stanislav Nedkov
Heavy: Dave Herman 15-1-0 vs. 11-3-0 "Big" Jim York
Welter: Akihiro Gono 29-15-7 vs. 12-4-0 Yoon Young Kim

Saturday, 12 September 2009

Sengoku made some additional announcements about future events yesterday, in addition to that there are some very interesting rumors going around.

1/4 Sengoku no Ran 2009 - Results

Sunday, 4 January 2009

A very interesting Card in Saitama Super Arena today! And there are spoilers if you read on!

Making their Sengoku debuts were Dave Herman and Antonio Silva. 2008 was a year with several upsets, and 2009 has started out like that too! King Mo again proved that he is a force in Sengoku and it will be interesting to see where he goes in 2009, he is growing into a big Sengoku star and it will be interesting to see who will challenge him next!

There were also 2 title fights on this card. The Sengoku title fights are 5 rounds, something that is a new thing in Japan and it might not have suited Misaki who was choked out in the last round.

Satoru Kitaoka made it a double for the GP winners, even though he admits in his speach that Gomi is popular. Kitaoka says that Gomi didnt perform 100% and he would like a rematch!

Fight order:
9. Main-Event: Light Weight Title Fight:
Satoru Kitaoka Def. Takanori Gomi by heel-hook Round 1 1:41

8. Middle Title Fight:
Jorge Santiago Def. Kazuo Misaki by rear-naked choke Round 5 3:26

7. Light-Heavy: Sanae Kikuta Def. Hidehiko Yoshida by decision 2-1
Both fighters enter the ring with NO gi.

In the intermission Satoshi Ishii enters the Sengoku ring wearing a UFC shirt! It is also announced that the first event of 2009 will be March 20 and it will feature the featherweight tournament.

6. Light-Heavy: Muhammed Lawal "King Mo" Def. Yukiya Naito by TKO Round 1 3:54
5. Heavy: Antonio Silva Def. Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao by TKO Round 1 1:42
4. Light: Eiji Mitsuoka Def. Sergey Golyaev by arm-bar Round 1 4:44

1/4 Sengoku no Ran 2009 - Fight Order Announced

Friday, 2 January 2009

Sengoku have announced the fight order for their New Years Event. I was hoping for 1-2 more fights, but the card should be very good none the less.

The main event is the lightweight title fight between last year's tournament winner, Satoru Kitaoka and Takanori Gomi. The co-main event is the Middleweight title fight between Jorge Santiago and Kazuo Misaki. These fights are really what this card is all about.

Sengoku is showing off some new signings as well, Dave "Pee-Wee" Herman and Antonio Silva will make their Sengoku debuts. Rising star "King Mo" will also return, so it should be a very good night of fights and entertainment.

9. Main-Event: Light Weight Title Fight:
Takanori Gomi 29-4-0 vs. 23-8-9 Satoru Kitaoka

8. Middle Title Fight: Jorge Santiago 20-7-0 vs. 21-8-2 Kazuo Misaki

1/4 Sengoku - King Mo's opponent announced

Friday, 19 December 2008

King Mo has become a star in Sengoku this year, he is exciting to watch and has a show to go with it. There is no way Sengoku would not have him on this card. His opponent is the way more experienced Yukiya Naito. Naito is on a 6 fight winning streak, and this should be a very good fight.

Also added are 2 opening fights, Maximo Blanco gets his shot at the big time after paying his dues in Pancrase this year. I thought Blanco lost his chance at getting into this event after his loss in the last Pancrase event, but he is an exciting fighter and an opening fight will be good experience for him. Blanco is facing DEEP fighter Seigo Inoue, Inoue is experienced but I think Blanco will be too strong for him.

The other opening fight is between "Kingdom Ehrgeize" fighter Hidetaka Irie and Minoru Kato.

Added:
Light-Heavy: Muhammed Lawal "King Mo" 2-0-0 vs. 15-4-2 Yukiya Naito

Opening Fights:
Light: Maximo Blanco 1-1-0 (1NC) vs. 5-5-1 Seigo Inoue
Light-Heavy: Hidetaka Irie vs. Minoru Kato

Previously announced:
Heavy: Antonio Silva 11-1-0 vs. 7-1-0 (2NC) Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao
Light-Heavy: Hidehiko Yoshida 8-6-1 vs. 27-6-3 Sanae Kikuta

Middle: Jorge Santiago 20-7-0 vs. 21-8-2 Kazuo Misaki

Thursday, 18 December 2008

SENGOKU OFFICIAL WEBSITE 戦極 -SENGOKU-

Sengoku have announced the match-up between Dave Herman and Korean Choi Mu Bae. Herman is a very experienced fighter, and a veteran of EliteXC. His debut in Japan will come against Korean Greco-Roman wrestler Choi Mu Bae.

Bae is not an opponent to be taken lightly, but "Pee-Wee" Herman should be favorite in this fight. It is also interesting to note that it looks like Sengoku is attracting more of the EliteXC talent.

Added:
Heavy: Dave "Pee-Wee" Herman 13-0-0 vs. 7-3-0 Choi Mu Bae

Previously announced:

1/4 Sengoku - Mitsuoka vs. Golyaev Announced

Monday, 15 December 2008

Golyaev beat Sengoku star Gomi in the last Sengoku event. It was a contorversial decision, made even more so when you see it in the perspective that Gomi now has a title fight against Kitaoka. But Golyaev gets a fight on the Sengoku January 4 card as well, he will face Japanese star Eiji Mitsuoka.

It should be a very good fight! Mitsuoka lost in the Sengoku GP to Kitaoka, but beat Rodrigo Damm to reach the semi-final in that GP. Maybe the winner of this fight will be the first title defense for the new champion? We will see, this is shaping up to be a very good event!

Also made official were the plans of holding a featherweight tournament next year. Plans are for a 16 tournament with 1st round in March, second round will be in May and finals in July.

Added:
Eiji Mitsuoka 14-6-2 vs. 12-6-0 Sergey Golyaev

Previously announced:
Antonio Silva 11-1-0 vs. 7-1-0 (2NC) Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao
Hidehiko Yoshida 8-6-1 vs. 27-6-3 Sanae Kikuta

1/4 Sengoku - Antonio Silva Debuting!

Friday, 28 November 2008

Sengoku have announced one more fight for their NYE (on January 4) card. The addition of Antonio Silva strengthes their heavy weight division and it is a very good addition for them.

The EliteXC champion is taking on Pride veteran Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao. Nakao's claim to fame is really kissing Heath Herring 3 years ago. Herring preceeded to KO Nakao before the fight had started. Nakao is giving up about 40kg in this fight.

The question now is, how long before we see even more EliteXC fighters coming to Japan? I have a feeling Sengoku is signing up a lot of these fighters lately.

Added:
Antonio Silva 11-1-0 vs. 7-1-0 (2NC) Yoshihiro "Kiss" Nakao

Previously announced:
Hidehiko Yoshida 8-6-1 vs. 27-6-3 Sanae Kikuta
Takanori Gomi 29-4-0 vs. 23-8-9 Satoru Kitaoka

It should be an interesting fight, and a good addition to this "New Years" card. In addition, as we know, Gomi will take on tournament winner Kitaoka. Misaki will take on Santiago.

Added:
Hidehiko Yoshida 8-6-1 vs. 27-6-3 Sanae Kikuta
