3/7 SRC12 - Results

I will update the results as soon as I have them here. The event is live now, but I am not aware of good places to get live results. I am finding these on japanese twitter accounts.

Hirota has entered the ring, and has returned his belt due to the injury suffered on NYE. He will be a commentator at the next Sengoku event on June 20, and is expecting to be back in the ring in September.

Kanehara is in the ring announcing that he will fight in June. Kanehara askes to fight Sandro. Sandro steps back into the ring saying that he wanted to fight as a Sengoku fighter on NYE, he respects Kanehara but he is #1. He accepts the challenge. I am not sure that it means the fight is official, but at least the fighters agree.

Sengoku have announced the fight order for their 12th event. The main event is not a big surprise, its a rematch and this time for the title. Mamed Khalidov is takeing on champion Jorge Santiago, and it will be interesting to see if he can repeat what he did last time.

3/7 SRC 12 - Fight Announced, Hoshino gets a new opponent

Sengoku have announced the replacement for Wilson Reis, Yuji Hoshino will take on Nick Denis.

Sengoku have also added a fight, the Pancrase champion Marlon Sandro will take on the fighter ranked just behind him in Pancrase, Tomonari Kanomata. That means we wont get to see the fight in Pancrase, but it will be a good one for Pancrase fans.

With those fights official, I am still hoping for 1 or 2 more but with less than 2 weeks to go, this might be the complete card.

2/7 Pancrase Passion Tour 1 - Former "Super High-School Student" Participates!

"The Former Super High-school Student" Tetsuya Yamada will make his Pancrase debut against Pancrase superveteran and 1995 Neo-Blood tournament winner, Takafumi Ito. It should be a good test for the 19 year old talent.

Also added is a rematch between Isao and AB. The last fight ended early with an accidental groin kick and the following DQ of AB. Both fighters will be eager to prove they are better and it should be a good fight.

Tomonari Kanomata is also returning to Pancrase to take on the undefeated Grabaka fighter, Shigeyuki Uchiyama.

The last fight added today is between Ryuji Ohori, who is coming in on a 3 fight losing streak. He is taking on Korean Kim Hoon.

10/25 Pancrase Changing Tour - Results

A interesting event in Differ Ariake earlier today. Pancrase legend Yuki Kondo steped into the ring against Yuji Hisamatsu. Another highlight was the flyweight title fight between champion Mitsuhisa Sunabe and Isao Hirose. The champion again defended against a very promising challenger.

In addition to that, the popular Seiya Kawahara extende his winning streak after his loss in the Sengoku tournament.

Ichiro Kanai KO'ed the veteran "Kei" Yamamiya in less than a minute, and Isao Kobayashi is still undefeated after a DQ win against Hiroki Aoki.

8/8 Pancrase Neo-Blood Finals - Results

Pancrase held their traditional Neo-Blood Tournament finals at this event, but this card had a lot more to offer.

Josh Barnett entered the ring after fight #7, and addressed the crowd saying that he would like to fihgt next time he entered the Pancrase ring. He also said that he will fight in IGF tomorrow.

There were 2 title fights as well, Maximo Blanco won not unexpectedly against Katsuya Inoue. I believe Inoue has a style that suits the powerful wrestler that Maximo is. Maximo is then the first Sengoku training fighter to claim a MMA title.

The other title fight was the veteran Izuru Takeuchi taking on Laughter7's Takenori Sato. This fight ended in a draw, with Takeuchi holding on to his title.

The main event saw Pancrase star Yuki Kondo take on Korean Kim Ki-Beom. Kondo took a strong win. He addressed the crowd thanking them for coming.

8/8 Pancrase Neo-Blood Finals - Fights Added

Pancrase continues to add fights to their event on August 8. This card is enough for 2 events, but that just means that it should be an awesome event!

Today 2 Pancrase stars have had their opponents announced. Koji Oishi is facing a very interesting Brazilian opponent in Felipe Olivieri. The talented fighter from Nova Uniao has only gone the distance once in his career, and that ended in a loss. Koji Oishi had a lot more experience and I think this looks like an interesing matchup.

Kenji Arai is facing Takumi Murata, who returned to the ring in June after almost 3 years off. He is on a 4 fight losing streak, and Kenji Arai will not be an easy opponent.

This card now has 18 fights on it, and it doesnt get much better!

8/8 Pancrase Neo-Blood Finals

Pancrase have announced another 6 fights for the next Changing Tour event, this event will also be the Neo-Blood finals.

Added is one of Pancrase's biggest stars, Yuki Kondo, who will be taking on debutant (as far as I know) Kim Ki-Beom. Yuki Kondo is a fighter that has seen it all and fought at all levels in his very long career, he will draw a crowd to watch this fight. Kondo is coming off a loss to Yuki Sasaki in Sengoku and he will be looking to bounce back here.

Also added is a very interesting match-up betweeen Tashiro "Akai" Nishiuchi and Cage Warriors veteran Tomonari Kanomata.

In addition to the Neo-Blood finals, there are 2 title fights on this card as well. Sengoku training fighter, Maximo Blanco gets a shot at the Pancrase lightweight title against the experienced champion, Katsuya Inoue. It will be war, and if he contains his excitement, I think Blanco will outpower his opponent.

8/8 Pancrase Changing Tour - 2 Title Fights Announced!

Pancrase just issued a new ranking last week, and now its time to shake them up.

This event will be the Neo-Blood tournament finals, but now they have added 2 title fights. Especially in the lightweight division, I am expecting the winner (if its Katsuya) to be in Sengoku shortly, Maximo Blanco will be there either way. Regardless, I am sure Blanco would like to get the belt. Speaking of Sengoku, Katsuya Inoue was the last fighter to defeat Sengoku champion Satoru Inoue in what was a very tactical fight. This will be a very interesting fight, Maximo Blanco seems to be his own enemy and should really have had 2 more wins. His only really loss was a loss on the ground, and Katsuya Inoue is a very different fighter. My pick is for Maximo to take this home, but he has to keep his head cool.

The other title fight announced today is the middleweight King of Pancrase. The champion is the Pancrease super-veteran Izuru Takeuchi, who has been fighting since 1997! His opponent is another veteran, and the Pancrase ranked #1 Takenori Sato.

This events will be awesome with the Neo-Blood tournament finals AND 2 title fights!

Also added as a participant is another big name, Tomonari Kanomata!

2/28 Cage Force-EX - RESULTS

Cage Force held an event in Tokorozawa in Saitama yesterday. It was a big card for them, lots of interesting matchups.

The main event saw Pancrase champion Katsuya Inoue take on Cage Force champion Mizuto Hirota. Hirota had a good 2008 and had his Sengoku debut, this was the first time for him to defend his title. Katsuya Inoue is no easy opponent, he was the last man to defeat Satoru Kitaoka. Hirota is a very different fighter though, and the fight went the distance, ending in a draw. That means that Hirota retains his title.

Lots of fights went the distance, it is worth noting that in the co-main event, Koyama fought his way to a decision win over the veteran Kanomata.

GCM have today announced the fight order for this Saturday's event in Tokorozawa. That also means that the card is complete.

It is a good card, and should be a good night of fights. The main event is between 2 very experienced lightweight, and probably 2 of the better lightweights in Japan today (I would put them in the top 10). Add to that the very interesting matchup between Tomonari Kanomata and Yoshihiro Koyama, and this should be good.

As far as talent go, look out for the fight between "Bancho" Takahashi and Koji Ando.

GCM have announced that Mizuto Hirota will defend his title against Pancrase lightweight champion Katsuya Inoue. None of these fighters are really submission artists, and it should be a very good fight (I guess it wont go to the ground). This fight will be the main event.

12/6 Cage Force 09 - RESULTS

Cage Force had their tournament finals today. I didnt make it there and had to rely on Sherdog's coverage, which this time was better than the Japanese!

Anyway, Cage Force now have a featherweight and a bantamweight champion! Before the tournaments started, I think few people were tipping Yuji Hoshino as the featherweight champion. But as the tournament progressed, he went in the the final as a slight favorite. He did deliver and I have been impressed with his performance. In the bantamweight division, I have to say that the favorite did deliver, I think Mizugaki was the favorite coming in and he has lived up to that. Now we have to see how long these champions stick around... There have been lots of changes this year, but these events always deliver entertaining fights.

I have updated the Preliminary fights as well. I am disappointed that Tsurumaki didn't get the win today either...

12/6 Cage Force 09 - Fight Order

Cage Force have announced the fight order for their event tomorrow in Differ Ariake. The main-event is the featherweight tournament final, which should be a good fight. That will follow the bantamweight tournament final.

A total of 13 fights on the card, and there has been a late addition! Kicking off the night will be Nobuhiro Tsurumaki, in his 11 (almost 12) years of fighting he has not yet recorded a win. I hope he gets this one! It should be said that he has fought some really big Japanese names early in his career. This time he is facing another winless fighter in Shuji Morikawa. (I am going by Sherdog when I refer these records, Tsurumaki does have a win in Conterders in 2001 and his first fight was in Rings in 1994).

12/6 Cage Force 09 - Fights Added

THere have been 5 additions to the Cage Force card this weekend. I thought the card looked a bit thin for a Cage Force event, but it is defiantely a full card now. In the fights added we will see some experienced fighters going against some very good talent, and there have been more than a few upsets in Cage Force this year.

This event is of course mainly about the tournament finals, both the bantam- and the featherweight finals should be very good fights. Yuji Hoshino has surprised me in getting this far, and the 33 year old would be a slight underdog again this time (IMO). In the bantamweight final, there is a similar scenario... 40 year old Masahiro Oishi has impressed me, but I would have to favor the younger Takeya Mizugaki in this one. I am really bad at predicting the outcome so I will leave the rest...

It should be a good event, so if you're not going to the K-1 this should be a good alternative. It is being held in Differ Ariake and doors open at 16:00.

12/6 Cage Force 09 - Fights Announced

Cage Force always put up good events, and there are usually some upsets. This time, again, they are putting talented fighters against more experienced ones and it makes for exciting fights.

Motoki Miyazawa is returning after his loss in DREAM 5, to meet the experienced Shigetoshi Iwase. Eriya Matsuda is fighting Tomonari Kanomata in a fight that should be very exciting.

The tournament finals this year should also be 2 very good fights. Masahiro Oishi, who just turned 40, is on a 5 fight winning streak and will face a big challenge in Takeya Mizugaki. The featherweight final will see the eccentric "Wicky" Akiyo against the veteran Yuji Hoshino. Hoshino is undefeated since 2004 and this should also be a very close fight.

4/5 Cage Force 06 - RESULTS

Apologies for being late with these. It was a very good event, even though there were lots of last minute changes they put together a very good card.

Paul McVeigh didn't win his fight, but the first round was definitely his. Oishi is a very good and experienced fighter and managed to defend himself well in that round. James Doolan was the better fighter as long as the fight was standing. He didn't want the fight to go to the ground, but Uematsu caught a leg an manged to get a quick submission.

In the main event, Hirota was the stronger and he is now the new Cage Force Lightweight champion.

Just so its mentioned, Tsurumaki is now 0-10. It was not a very good fight and easy to see why he has that record, but one of these days he will get a victory...

4/5 Cage Force 06 - Fights confirmed

Finally, Cage Force has published their fights for the bantamweight tournament. There was also a surprise main event on this card. As we know, Artur Oumakhanov will compete in the DREAM tournament this year. Because of that, he has returned his Cage Force belt. There will be a fight for the vacant title on April 5.

The card looks awesome and I think this will be a very good event.
