10/24 Cage Force - Results

GCM also held a Cage Force event after Valkyrie earlier in the day, headlined by olympic medalist Katsuhiko Nagata taking on a very talented fighter in Daisuke Hoshino. The co-main event saw the very popular grappler Tetsu Suzuki take on the colourful Isao Terada.

A fighter to look for on this card is Hideto Kondo, he is fighting out of Mach Dojo and "Mach" Sakurai himself believes he has a bright future. He won his fight here, and I am sure he will be looking to build on that in the future.

10/24 GCM Cage Force and Valkyrie 03 - Fight Order

GCM will have a double header in Differ Ariake on Saturday. First up are the female fighters when Valkyrie holds their 3rd event.

The card suffered a loss though, when Izumi Noguchi had to step down from her fight with Emi Fujino due to injury. It is now a 7 fight event, and the question is if Valkyrie is fighting a losing "battle" with Jewels. They do have some popular fighters on the card though, "Sachi" will have some fans in the crowd for sure and will Naoko Omuro.

9/22 Shooto Revolutionary Exchanges 2 - Fights Added

Added to the card are some very interesting fights! There are 2 fights added in the bantamweight division, and both should be very good fights. Ryuichi Miki will take on Yasuhiro Urushitani in what will be a re-match. They last met in Mai last year and the fight ended in a draw. Urushitani has not fought since November last year, and it will be good to see him back in Shooto.

The other bantamweight fight will see Yuki Shojo, who resently lost to the champion "BJ" take on DREAM veteran Junya Kudo.

In the lightweight division, Australian Gustavo Falciroli is making the trip to Japan to take on Paraestra Sapporo's Daisuke Ishizawa. Falciroli made it into the Shooto rankings last month after a win over Akiyo Nishiura and it will be interesting to see if he can build on that.

There are 10 fights on the card now, including 2 Pacific title fights. The card should be complete now, and it is looking very good!

9/22 Shooto Revolutionary Exchanges 2 - 2 Title Fights Announced

Shooto have announced 2 Pacific Rim title fights for their next "Revolutionary Exchanges" event. In the welterweight division, Kotetsu Boku will aim to reclaim his title from the current champion, Yusuke Endo. This is not the first time these fighters meet. Endo was Boku's opponent when Boku returned to Shooto in January this year. That was a non-title fight and it ended with a draw.

In the other title fight announced, Australian Xavier Lucas will defend his middlweight Pacific Rim title against Japanese standout, Akihiro Yamazaki. This will be the first title defense for Xavier Lucas, and his first fight in Korakuen Hall. Yamazaki has not lost since February 2005, his opponent on that occation was Yoshiyuki Yoshida, and this should be a very good fight.

Also on the card is the Hadairo (Tetsu Suzuki), taking on a very interesting opponent in Teriyuki Matsumoto. Making his debut on the Shooto "main cards" is Fumihiro Kitahara, taking on Masatoshi Abe.

9/22 Shooto Revolutionary Exchanges 2 - Boku aims at reclaiming his title

Shooto will end this year on a high, from "Revolutionary Exhcanges 2" they will have 3 big cards with just a month between them.

For this card 2 Pacific title fights are announced. For the welterweight title, Kotetsu Boku once wore the belt that now belongs to Yusuke Endo. Some will point out that Boku never lost the title in the ring. This is a re-match from January, on that occation the fight ended in a draw.

The other title fight is for the middleweight title. The title currently belongs to Australian Xavier Lucas, who claimed the title after defeating Yoshitaro Niimi in October last year. In his first title defence he will be taking on Akihiro Yamazaki, a fighter that has lots of talent and this will be a good fight.

3/20 Shooto Tradition 6 - ***REMINDER***

This card has been ready for a while and it is very good. Personally, I am looking forward to the Ogikubo fight, but there are 2 title fights on as well. Also, look out for Yamagami, who always seems to be a hit with the crowd.

The Shooto Trandition series have been awesome, as you would expect as Shooto is celebrating its 20th anniversary with this.

The latest event, #6 in the series, will have 2 title fights on the card. The main-event will be the bantamweight title fight between "BJ" Kojima and Yuki Shoujou. "BJ" is coming off a draw with Jesse Taitano at Tradition 5. Shoujou defeated Shooto veteran Yasuhiro Urushitani in this last fight, and this should be a very good fight.

The co-main event is the other title fight on the card. The undefeated Masakatsu Ueda is taking on So Tazawa. Tazawa is coming off a draw with Ogikubo in Tradition 4. So Tazawa have not lost since his last fight with Ueda, that almost exactly 2 years ago and Ueda won by Brabo choke in round 3.

Also on the card are some very interesting fights. Ogikubo, who is unbeaten in his Shooto career, will take on the grappling specialist "Hadairo".

There was one fight added with the announcement of the fight order. The veteran Takayuki Okochi will take on Michiyuki Ishibashi. Okochi have not tasted victory in over 6 years, and should be very determined to get one here. Ishibashi is not far behind, his only professional win was back in 2007, or 4 fights ago.

3/20 Shooto Tradition 6 - Fights Added

Shooto have announced 2 more fights for their Tradition 6 card. This event is held on the same day as the Sengoku 7 event, and needs to be good, and this is shaping up to be something special.

There are already 2 title fights on the card, in addition to that there were some very good talent.

Today, they have added some more fights as well. The unbeaten 7th ranked featherweight Hiromasa Ogikubo will face grappling specialist and 10th ranked Tetsu Suzuki. Ogikubo faced Tazawa in his last fight and drew, this event So Tazawa is fighting for the title and I am guessing the winner of this fight will climb into contention.

The other fight added today is between Masaaki Sugawara and
debutant Daiji Takahashi.

Made a mistake when looking up Daiji Takahashi... He is a very experienced fighter, but not had a win in his last 5 fights. I am sure he will come in motivated to get one here.

9/27 Cage Force 8 - RESULTS

Cage Force held the Semi-Finals of the featherweight and bantamweight tournaments today. After today, the final in the featherweight tournament is ready, and so is one of the finalists in the bantamweight tournament.

The featherweight final will be between Yuji Hoshino and "Wicky" Akiyo Nishiura. The
bantamweight final will be Masahiro Oishi against either Takeya Mizugaki or Taiyo Nakahara. Their semi final will be fought in November.

TV Tokyo should show this event, and it will air October 19 26.40 (2.40 on 20th) - 27.35 (3.35).

9/27 Cage Force 8 - Fight Order

This weekend will be super busy! Kicking things off on Saturday is Cage Force with their tournament semi-finals. These fight should provide some very good entertainment.

The main event is Yuji Hoshino vs. Dream "veteran" Takeshi Yamazaki. In the other featherweight semi final the always entertaining "Wicky" Akiyo will take on Fanjin Son who is a very talented fighter.

In the Bantamweight tournament the very experienced Masahiro Oishi will take on the exentric grappler Tetsu Suzuki in a fight that should also be very exciting. Oishi got through a tough opponent in Paul McVeigh in the first round, while Suzuki left Katsuya Toida with egg on his face after a 16 second TKO win.

Also on the card are fighters like Takeya Mizugaki, Yoshihiro Koyama and Wataru Miki. A very good card again from Cage Force!

9/27 Cage Force 8 - 2 Fights added

Cage Force have added 2 more fights to their card for September 27. This is the day before the Sengoku event, and it looks like a very good card too.

There are 3 semi-finals (1 bantam and 2 featherweight) on the card. The reminaing bantamweight semi will take place November 8.

In the welterweight fight added, we will see GCM talent Tetsuo Seto face off against Shooto fighter "Hunt" Okumiya. The other fight added is a preliminary fight between Koji Ando who was very good in his fight July 21 and Masayoshi Ichikawa, who suffered a 26 seconds KO loss in the same event.

9/27 Cage Force 8 - Fights added

Cage Force have added 5 fights to their September 27 card. These are in addition to the previously announced semi-finals.

The Bantamweight semi-final between Takeya Mizugaki and Taiyo Nakahara has been moved to the November 8 "Eastern Bound" event. Nakahara was injured during training, but should be ready for the event in November. Mizugaki will instead face Daisuke Endo in a non-tournament fight.

As always, I expect Cage Force to put on a good show, and the tournament fights are looking very interesting.

The finals will be held in Cage Force 9, December 6.

9/27 Cage Force 8 - Semi-Finals Announced!

Cage Force have announced the semi-finals for their tournaments. There has already been a few surprises, not to mention changes due to the fianancial problems they are having. But the semi-finals are looking awesome!!! I was a bit dissapointed last time, but otherwise the Cage Force events have been very good. As this is on a Saturday, I think there is a good chance I will make my way to Differ Ariake again this time.

For those who didnt know Yamazaki before his DREAM fight with Hideo Tokoro, he is in this semi-final (he also fought in DREAM 3 btw). There are some really big Japanese names in these semi-finals!

3/28 Shooto - Back to Our Roots 8 - RESULTS

Shooto put on a great event tonight. There were less fights on that card than I am used to, and unfortunately I missed most of it. But I was assured that this was a great event!

The main event was VERY close. Kadowaki pulled out a very thin decision honestly, I expected it to be a draw. However, for once the Japanese fans cheered on their favorite (I have never experienced anything like it in Japan). Kadowaki is the new camp!

In the fight that I was really looking forward to, Baret Yoshida never really got to use his guard. Hioki was just too strong and won a first round TKO.

Update: Totally forgot to mention when I wrote this, Rumina Sato is currently without an opponent for the May Shooto event. Yesterday he said he would like to fight Hatsu Hioki. That would be a great fight, lets see if Shooto can make it happen.

Fight 2 on the Shooto card for tomorrow is taken off. It seems Hayato Sato is carrying an injury and will not be able to compete. That leaves us with 7 fights. Still, the best fights are still on the card and this will be a good event.

3/28 Shooto - Back to Our Roots 8

I have a lot of Shooto cards to catch up on... Truth is that there are SO many of them this month. This will one of the big ones. Shooto has a lot of passionate fans and they have a lot of great fighters, this event we will see more than a few of them in action.

The main event will be for the Lightweight title. As has been discussed earlier, rumor is that Antonio Carvalho gave up this title shot to fight in the Cage Force tournament. The title fight has gone to Hideki Kadowaki. Kadowaki will not be an easy opponent for Tamura thought, in his last fight he choked out Rumina Sato and he is very strong on the ground. Other names to take note of Baret Yoshida (returning after almost 5 years), Hatsu Hioki, Koetsu Okazaki (let's see if he can finish Ueda, all his fights seem to go the distance), Masakatsu Ueda and "Lion" Takeshi.

There are more fights to be announced, this will be a very good event!
