Wednesday, 2 September 2009

Added to the card are some very interesting fights! There are 2 fights added in the bantamweight division, and both should be very good fights. Ryuichi Miki will take on Yasuhiro Urushitani in what will be a re-match. They last met in Mai last year and the fight ended in a draw. In the lightweight division, Australian Gustavo Falciroli is making the trip to Japan to take on Paraestra Sapporo's Daisuke Ishizawa. Falciroli made it into the Shooto rankings last month after a win over Akiyo Nishiura and it will be interesting to see if he can build on that.

There are 10 fights on the card now, including 2 Pacific title fights. The card should be complete now, and it is looking very good!

4/19 Shooto Gig Tokyo Vol. 2 - Fight Order

Wednesday, 8 April 2009

Gig Tokyo Vol. 2 is going to be held in Shinjuku Face on April 19. As with the first event, there are some very exciting talents participating. This time the talent includes last year's rookie tournament winner and MVP, Issei Tamura.

Tamura is set to take on the veteran Hayate Usui. This fight will probably go the distance, but it will be interesting to see how Tamura handles such an experienced veteran.

Daisuke Ishizawa is making a return after almost a year away. He started his career by going 3-1, then he faced fighters like "Wicky" Akiyo and Hideki Kadowaki. Now he has a 4 fight losing streak, but will be looking to get back on the winning track here.

Tamura is not the only Rookie tournament winner on this card, last years bantamweight champion, Fumihiro Kitahara, is coming of a loss to the veteran Junji Ikoma. Kitahara is facing Toshimichi Akagi, Akagi is on a 3 fight losing streak and this should be a good fight.

An interesting fact, Seiji Akao is making his Shooto debut. He has had 7 fights, mainly in DEEP, 3 of them has been against Tatsumitsu Wada and Seiji Akao is 3-0 against Wada. Wada on his hand is 0-5 in his career.

Main-Event - Lightweight:
Issei Tamura 3-0-0 vs. 10-7-1 Hayate Usui
Light: Sakae Kasuya 5-3-3 vs. 3-5-0 Daisuke Ishizawa
