11/23 Shooto Revolutionary Excanges 3 - "Amazon" Returns!

Monday, 19 October 2009

Some awesome fights are announced for Revolutionary Exchanges 3, they were announced yesterday, but I was not sure for which event. Anyway, the specialist grappler "Amazon" Sugie returns after 4 years away to take on Paolo Milano. This fight will be a highlight for Shooto fans that have been waiting for "Amazon" to return.

I am also happy to see Yoshihiro Koyama return to Shooto after doing very well in Cage Force. He lost his shot at the title against Hironaka and will be looking to bounce back against a very experienced opponent in Tetsuji Kato.

Welter: Daisuke "Amazon" Sugie 7-6-1 vs. 8-4-1 Paolo Milano
Bantam: Ryuichi Miki 9-3-3 vs. 9-3-1 Masaaki Sugawara
Feather: So Tazawa 8-4-3 vs. 9-7-3 Shuichiro Katsumura
Welter: Yoshihiro Koyama 12-3-1 vs. 19-9-0 Tetsuji Kato

4/12 Shooto GIG Central Vol. 17 - RESULTS

Sunday, 12 April 2009

Shooto had pulled out some of their Nagoya regulars to fight on this card, and in addition to the 5 fights on the main-card, there were 3 amature fights. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find the results for the amature fights, but here are the results for the other fights.

In the main event, Hiroshi Shiba was able to get Hattori's back and finish the fight with a rear-naked choke. Hattori showed that he was a dangerous fighter though, and Shiba left the fight with a bloody nose, it also meant a stop to Hattori's 3 fight winning streak.

Paolo Milano had gone winless for 3 fights, and finally got back on the winning streak, even if it was a very close decision.

Welter: Hiroshi Shiba Def. Kenichi Hattori by rear-naked choke Round 1 4:53

Welter: Paolo Milano Def. Takahiro Kajita by Decision 2-1
Middle: Takesuke Kume Def. Hirosumi Sugiura by Decision 2-0
Bantam: Joji Shimada Def. Hiroshi Sakamoto by rear-naked choke Round 1 3:49

Rookie Tournament:
Fly: Doraku Mori Def. Daiki Yamaishi by Decision 3-0

Amature Fights:
Light: Yuta Sasaki vs. Masaru Kadowaki
Feather: Naoki Kawai vs. Takeshi Kasugai

4/12 Shooto GIG Central Vol. 17

Saturday, 4 April 2009

Its going to be a great week for MMA in Nagoya. First tomorrow DREAM is holding their first event in Nagoya, then next week Shooto will have their event there. The only negative for the hard core fans in Nagoya is the absence of their local star Hatsu Hioki.

The GIG Central cards dont really feel the same without Hioki fighting, but it should still be an entertaining event.

The main-event will feature a regular at the Shooto Nagoya events, Kenichi Hattori has fought in 9 of the 16 GIG Central events to date. Outside of that, he has 3 fights. Hattori is now on a 3 fight winning streak, and he is awarded with the main-event here. He is taking on Purebred Kyoto's Hiroshi Shiba.

Also on the card is Paolo Milano, who has gone winless for 3 fights and will be looking to get back on the winning track, and Nagoya local Takesuke Kume, who is undefeated home in Nagoya.

Main-Event:
Welter: Kenichi Hattori 6-3-3 vs. 5-5-0 Hiroshi Shiba

Welter: Takahiro Kajita 9-8-3 vs. 6-4-1 Paolo Milano
Middle: Hirosumi Sugiura 3-4-2 vs. 3-1-2 Takesuke Kume
Bantam: Hiroshi Sakamoto 3-4-0 vs. 1-4-0 Joji Shimada

Rookie Tournament:
Fly: Doraku Mori vs. Daiki Yamaishi

Amature Fights:
Light: Yuta Sasaki vs. Masaru Kadowaki
Feather: Naoki Kawai vs. Takeshi Kasugai
Yutaka Umeya vs. Masashi Maeguchi
