Rin Nakai goes sexy

Sunday, 19 December 2010

This will be my first post for a very long time, and what wakes me up from hypernation? One of my favorite female fighters, Rin Nakai has deceided to follow Mika Nagano and do some sexy pictures. There has already been some of those on the net, but she has now added to the collection.

The pictures were posted in relation to an interview she did with GBR, which of course you need to be a paying member to view. However, she has posted most of the pictures on her own blog

Personally I am torn in my opinons of female MMA fighters doing this to get attention. All publicity is good publicity, or so they say. But I wish the female MMA fighters could get attention for being the athletes they are, not the way they look.

Either way the pictures are nice and she didnt go as far as Hisae Watanabe once did in her acting career.

Of course there are more good news for Rin Nakai fans, the Valkyrie champion is taking on Hari in a MMA fight on SRC's New Year card.

Now for some pictures:

6/19 Valkyrie 06 - Fight Order

Thursday, 17 June 2010

GCM have announced the fight order for their 6th Valkyrie event. Unfortunately there are only 5 (!) fights on the card...

Considering that the men's card has 6 fights later, I dont know why they havent made this into one ticket event.

The Vakyrie card does have some good fights though, and I am really looking forward to seeing if Rin Nakai can extend her winning streak.

5. Naoko Omuro 11-7-3 vs. 11-4-3 Yasuko Tamada

2/11 Cage Force & Valkyrie 04 - Fight Order

Wednesday, 10 February 2010

GCM have announced their 2 cards for tomorrow, and to be honest I think the Valkyrie card is the better one...

Hiroko Kitamura is a late replacement, and comes in for an injured "Sachi", the crowd favorite broke her leg during training and will be sidelined for this event.

The main-event will be the Female featherweight title fight between Yuka Tsuji and "V Hajime". Also on the card is one of my favorite fighters, Rin Nakai.

The main-event for the Cage Force (or the male part) is Katsuhiko Nagata, who will be taking on Koji Ando. This is a great chance for Ando to get a good win, but Nagata will be coming in as the favorite here.

Valkyrie:
Main-Event: Female Fetherweight Title fight (3x5min):
7. Yuka Tsuji 22-1-0 vs. 5-2-0 Mei "V Hajime" Yamaguchi

Female Flyweight (45.4kg) Championship Tournament Semi-Finals:
6. Naoko Omuro 10-7-3 vs. 0-1-0 Yuko Takagi
5. Yasuko Tamada 9-4-3 vs. 5-3-0 "Happy" Fukuko Hamada

4. Feather (52.2kg): "Windy" Tomomi Sunaba 12-12-1 vs. 16-15-5 Masako Yoshida
3. Welter (61.2kg 3x3min): Rin Nakai 5-0-0 vs. 5-3-0 Mizuho Sato
2. -53kg: Hiroko Kitamura 2-0-0 vs. 0-1-1 Kimie "Sakura" Okada
1. Bantam(48.5kg 3x3min): Mamiko Mizoguchi 2-3-1 vs. Megumi Morioka

GCM will have a double header in Differ Ariake on Saturday. First up are the female fighters when Valkyrie holds their 3rd event.

The card suffered a loss though, when Izumi Noguchi had to step down from her fight with Emi Fujino due to injury. It is now a 7 fight event, and the question is if Valkyrie is fighting a losing "battle" with Jewels. The Cage Force card in the afternoon is looking stronger. The main event will see former Olympic silvermedalist Katsuhiko Nagata take on the undefeated Daisuke Hoshino. The co-main event should also be very good with Isao Terada taking on the very popular grappler "Hadairo".

7/12 Cage Force & Valkyrie - RESULTS

Monday, 13 July 2009

Yesterday Cage Force held an event in Differ Ariake and the main focus was on the main event, even is there were more interesting fights on the card.

The Pride and IFL veteran Kazuhiro Hamanaka take on DREAM and Pancrase veteran Alavutdin Gadjiev. Personally I had Alavutdin winning this, but the fight ended in controversial fashion. In a fight where both fighters had their chances, Alavutdin suffered a DQ loss after landing a second illegal knee to a grounded opponent.

"V Hajime" should be a step closer to the Valkyrie featherweight title after a very close decision win against Takabayashi Kyoko.

Nobuhiro Tsurumaki got his 12th straight loss, and is now 0-12. This time it was a right that dropped Tsurumaki, who is much tougher than his record indicates. I hope he gets the win soon.

Main-Event:
Kazuhiro Hamanaka Def. Alavutdin Gadjiev by DQ Round 3 1:04

Tomonori Taniguchi Def. Wataru Takahashi by Decision 2-0
Ikkei Nagamura Def. Nobuhiro Tsurumaki by TKO Round 1 0:38
Valkyrie: Mei "V Hajime" Yamaguchi Def. Kyoko Takabayashi by Decision 2-1
Tetsuo Seto Def. Sapp Nishinari by Decision 3-0
Toshihiro Taguchi Def. Satoshi Nishino by TKO Round 1 2:05
Masaki Yokoyama vs. Hayato Shimizu Draw

Valkyrie Fights:
Mayumi Aoki Def. Mizuho Sato by TKO Round 3 2:48

7/12 Cage Force & Valkyrie - Fight Order

Thursday, 9 July 2009

Cage Force have published their card for July 12. The main-event made in onto the Sherdog's 10 fights to watch in July. It should be a good fight between to fighters that have fought on the big stage, but have yet to break through there. Hamanaka is on a 4 fight losing streak, but he has not fought often. Alavutdin has done very well since 2007, but lost in his DREAM debut against Ralek Gracie.

Of the Valkyrie fight, V hajime facing Kyoko Takabayashi should be a very good fight. V Hajime is a very talented fighter and Kyoko Takabayashi should be a good test for her.

Main-Event:
9. Middle: Alavutdin Gadjiev 14-8-0 vs. 4-6-1 Kazuhiro Hamanaka

8. Feather: Wataru Takahashi 8-10-3 vs. 5-6-2 Tomonori Taniguchi
7. Middle: Ikkei Nagamura 2-1-1 vs. 0-11-0 Nobuhiro Tsurumaki
6. Valkyrie Feather: Mei "V Hajime" Yamaguchi 4-2-0 vs. 9-3-0 Kyoko Takabayashi
5. Welter: Tetsuo Seto 4-2-2 vs. 1-0-0 Sapp Nishinari

7/12 Cage Force & Valkyrie

Wednesday, 1 July 2009

GCM is holding a combination event on July 12 in Differ Ariake, by combination I mean that this will be both a Cage Force and a Valkyrie event.

There are some very interesting fight on this card. For one, we will see the return of the one time Pancrase ranker, Alavutdin Gadjiev taking on the IFL and Hero's veteran Kazuhiro Hamanaka. Hamanaka is coming of 4 straight losses and will be looking to get a win here. Gadjiev is not an easy opponent though, and he would be my pick here.

Also on the card is veteran Nobuhiro Tsurumaki. A record of 0-11, but this guy has been in the game for a long time and fought some very tough fighters. Lets see how he does against Team Cloud's Ikke Nagamura.

Cage Force:
Middle: Ikkei Nagamura 2-1-1 vs. 0-11-0 Nobuhiro Tsurumaki
Middle: Alavutdin Gadjiev 14-8-0 vs. 4-6-1 Kazuhiro Hamanaka
Feather: Wataru Takahashi 8-10-3 vs. 5-6-2 Tomonori Taniguchi
Feather: Satoshi Nishino 5-4-2 vs. 2-2-0 Toshihiro Taguchi
Bantam: Masaki Yokoyama 2-2-3 vs. 4-3-1 Hayato Shimizu
Welter: Tetsuo Seto 4-2-2 vs. 1-0-0 Sapp Nishinari

Valkyrie Fights:
Mei "V Hajime" Yamaguchi 4-2-0 vs. 9-3-0 Kyoko Takabayashi

4/25 Valkyrie 02 - Fight Order

Wednesday, 22 April 2009

GCM have announced the fight order for the all female part of the afternoon on April 25 in Differ Ariake. That also means that there is unlikely to be additions to this card, and with only 5 fights on it I was hoping for a couple more.

But there are some good fights on, so if you are going to the Cage Force event later that same day, why not go to this one too? Roxanne Modafferi was presented as a participant early on, but she is not on the card.

On the card are some very good and experienced fighters. Some of the bigger names are: Yuka Tsuji, Emi Fujino, "Windy" Tomomi, Takayo Hashi and "Sachi".

The main event is the first Valkyrie title fight between former SmackGirl champion Yuka Tsuji and Kate Martinez. The co-main event will see another SmackGirl veteran, Takayo Hashi, take on new-comer Chisa Yonezawa.

Main-Event: Featherweight Title Fight:
6. Yuka Tsuji 21-1-0 vs. 1-0-0 Kate Martinez

5. Welter: Takayo Hashi 11-1-0 vs. 0-1-0 Chisa Yonezawa

Featherweight Tournament to Determine the next Challenger:

3. Megumi "V Hajime" Yamaguchi 3-2-0 vs. 8-2-0 Emi Fujino

4/25 Valkyrie 02 - Fights Added

Monday, 6 April 2009

The second event in the all female Valkyrie organization is planned for April 25 in Differ Ariake. This is before the Cage Force event, you will need to buy tickets for both, but it is a very good chance to have a day packed with MMA action.

The Valkyrie should be a very interesting one. They will determine a Featherweight champion, and there is a tournament to determine the next challenger. The question is if they can get some momentum going, currently Jewels is the leading female organization.

Added today are 2 welterweight (61.2kg) fights, and the addition of Takayo Hashi is an interesting one.

Personally, I want to see Rin Nakai on this card, she would have been awesome in the tournament.

Added:
Welter: Takayo Hashi 11-1-0 vs. 0-1-0 Chisa Yonezawa
Welter: Mizuho Sato 3-2-0 vs. Masae Mori

Previously Announced:
Featherweight Title Fight:
Yuka Tsuji 21-1-0 vs. 1-0-0 Kate Martinez

Featherweight Tournament to Determine the next Challenger:
Megumi "V Hajime" Yamaguchi 3-2-0 vs. 8-2-0 Emi Fujino
"Windy" Tomomi Sunaba 12-9-0 vs. 8-3-0 Kyoko Takabayashi

4/25 Valkyrie 02 - SACHI Fighting

Friday, 3 April 2009

GCM is putting on a double header in Differ Ariake on April 25. The evening kicks off with Valkyrie, the all female production, at 14:00. This event is looking very good, and I think the fights are looking competitive too.

Naoko Omuro will take on "Sachi", who would be very familar to the fans of Japanese female MMA. "Sachi" has lost twice to DEEP female champion Satoko Shinashi, she looks good and she is good. She should be a very good addition to the Valkyrie card, and it looks like it should be a good fight as well.

The fight that sticks out as a main-event is Yuka Tsuji taking on Kate Martinez though. I know very little about Kate Martinez, but from what I can see she is a very good kickboxer that won her first MMA fight by arm-bar. Have a feeling she will have her hands full with Yuka Tsuji though.

Two fighters looking to get back on the winning track, "V Hajime" will take on Emi Fujino. Both fighters have lost their last 2 fights, and "V Hajime" will be looking to revenge her loss from December 2007.

Naoko Omuro 8-7-3 vs. 5-3-1 Sachiko "SACHI" Yamamoto
Yuka Tsuji 21-1-0 vs. 1-0-0 Kate Martinez
Megumi "V Hajime" Yamaguchi 3-2-0 vs. 8-2-0 Emi Fujino
"Windy" Tomomi Sunaba 12-9-0 vs. 8-3-0 Kyoko Takabayashi

Possible participant:
Roxanne Modafferi 13-4-0

4/25 Valkyrie 02 - Valkyrie is Still Alive!

Friday, 6 March 2009

Its been a very long time since the first Valkyrie event, and it lead me to believe that we would not see another event. Luckily, I was wrong! Valkyrie is alive and will hold their second event 25 April in Differ Ariake.

On the card will be some very good fighters, Yuka Tsuji and Roxanne Modafferi are 2 of the fighters announced today.

Participants:
Yuka Tsuji 21-1-0
Naoko Omuro 8-7-3
Kyoko Takabayashi 8-3-0
Roxanne Modafferi 13-4-0

2/28 Cage Force-EX - 2 Valkyrie Fights Added

Friday, 23 January 2009

GCM have added 2 Valkyrie (female) fights to the EX card in Saitama. I dont think this will be an all female card, but there might be a 2 parts card.

Anyway, today the first 2 fights were added, Kazue Matake will take on Kinuka Sasaki and Kayo Nagayasu will take on Maho Muranami. There are some very experienced female fighters in there, and I think these should be ok fights. I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the card though.

Added:
Kazue Matake 3-1-0 vs. 2-6-1 Kinuka Sasaki
Kayo Nagayasu 7-6-1 vs. 4-5-1 Maho Muranami

11/8 VALKYRIE EX 01- Roxanne Modaferri Fighting!

Friday, 24 October 2008

Valkyrie have announced an additional 2 fights to their first event being held in Differ Arike November 8. I know lots of people (me included) will be happy to see that Roxanne Modafferi is getting a fight after the AFL cancelation.<

So instead of fighting Tara Larosa, Roxy will be fighting Chisa Yonezawa, the rules are Novice rule, i.e. not punches to the face on the ground.

Also added to the card is “Windy” Tomomi against Emi Fujino. Fujino is coming off her first loss and Windy Tomomi has been in awesome shape since returning from her injury in 2007.

Added:
Valkyrie (VR) Rule:
Featherweight: “Windy” Tomomi Sunabe 11-8-0 vs. 8-1-0 Emi Fujino

Novice Rule (NR):

Sherdog is reporting that Roxanne Modaferri has had her rematch against Tara Larosa cancelled. She is trying to get on the card in this event, but it might be difficult to find an opponent. I really hope we get to her on this card, she should be prepared and its a great oppurtunity for Valkyrie to get another big name on the card.
