2/28 Cage Force-EX - RESULTS

Sunday, 1 March 2009

Cage Force held an event in Tokorozawa in Saitama yesterday. It was a big card for them, lots of interesting matchups.

The main event saw Pancrase champion Katsuya Inoue take on Cage Force champion Mizuto Hirota. Hirota had a good 2008 and had his Sengoku debut, this was the first time for him to defend his title. Katsuya Inoue is no easy opponent, he was the last man to defeat Satoru Kitaoka. Hirota is a very different fighter though, and the fight went the distance, ending in a draw. That means that Hirota retains his title.

Lots of fights went the distance, it is worth noting that in the co-main event, Koyama fought his way to a decision win over the veteran Kanomata.

Ligtweight Title Fight: Mizuto Hirota vs. Katsuya Inoue Draw
Light: Yoshihiro Koyama Def. Tomonari Kanomata by Decision 3-0
Light: Katsuhiko Nagata vs. Yasunori Kanehara Draw
Middle: Rikuhei Fuji Def. Sojiro Orui by Decision 3-0
Welter (3x3): Yusaku Tsukumo Def. Kenta Takagi by Decision 2-0
Bantam (3x3): Yuta Nezu Def. Seiji Otsuka by KO (high-kick) Round 1 2:39
Light (3x3): Yoshiaki "Bancho" Takahashi vs. Koji Ando Draw
Light (3x3): Naoto Miyazaki vs. Shin Kochiwa Draw

Opening Fights - Valkyrie:
Light (female) (3x3): Kinuka Sasaki Def. Kazue Matake by Decision 2-0
Light (female) (3x3): Kayo Nagayasu vs. Maho Muranami Draw

Preliminary Fight:

2/28 Cage Force EX - Fight Order

Wednesday, 25 February 2009

GCM have today announced the fight order for this Saturday's event in Tokorozawa. That also means that the card is complete.

It is a good card, and should be a good night of fights. The main event is between 2 very experienced lightweight, and probably 2 of the better lightweights in Japan today (I would put them in the top 10). Add to that the very interesting matchup between Tomonari Kanomata and Yoshihiro Koyama, and this should be good.

As far as talent go, look out for the fight between "Bancho" Takahashi and Koji Ando.

Main-Event - Ligtweight Title Fight:
Mizuto Hirota 10-3-0 vs. 18-6-3 Katsuya Inoue

Light: Tomonari Kanomata 13-3-3 vs. 11-2-1 Yoshihiro Koyama

2/28 Cage Force-EX - Pancrase Champion vs. Cage Force Champion

Thursday, 12 February 2009

GCM have announced that Mizuto Hirota will defend his title against Pancrase lightweight champion Katsuya Inoue. None of these fighters are really submission artists, and it should be a very good fight (I guess it wont go to the ground). This fight will be the main event.

In addition to the main event, GCM have added another awesome fight to the card. Tomonari Kanomata will fight Yoshihiro Koyama in what should be a very good fight.

Added:
Main-Event - Ligtweight Title Fight:
Mizuto Hirota 10-3-0 vs. 18-6-3 Katsuya Inoue

Light: Tomonari Kanomata 13-3-3 vs. 11-2-1 Yoshihiro Koyama
Bantam (3x3): Yuta Nezu 5-2-1 vs. 8-8-5 Seiji Otsuka
Light (3x3): Yoshiaki "Bancho" Takahashi 4-1-0 vs. 2-0-1 Koji Ando

2/28 Cage Force-EX - Hirota will Defend His Title

Thursday, 29 January 2009

Cage Force have announced 3 more fights for the February 28 event in Tokorozawa. What is likely the main-event, will feature Sengoku veteran Mizuto Hirota defending his lightweight title against a yet to be determined opponent.

Also on the card will be the lightweight fight between the 2000 Olymipic silver medalist and DREAM veteran Katsuhiko Nagata and Akiyama student Yasunori Kanehara. Kanehara's record is a bit misleading as he has been taking on some very good opponents like: Yoshihiro Koyama, Donald Cerrone, Wataru Miki (x2) and Tomonari Kanomata. His draw is against Yuji Hoshino. This should turn out to be a good fight.

Announced:
Ligtweight Title Fight: Mizuto Hirota 10-3-0 vs. TBA
Light: Katsuhiko Nagata 4-4-0 vs. 1-5-1 Yasunori Kanehara
Middle: Rikuhei Fuji 3-3-0 vs. 5-3-4 Sojiro Orui

Previously announced:
Kazue Matake 3-1-0 vs. 2-6-1 Kinuka Sasaki
Kayo Nagayasu 7-6-1 vs. 4-5-1 Maho Muranami

11/8 Cage Force - EX Eastern Bound - RESULTS

Saturday, 8 November 2008

The Eastern Bound event is going on right now in Differ Ariake, there are some big stars on the card and there could be some big upsets.

I would not expect "K-Taro", Monma, Osawa and Urushitani to lose today, but it has been a week with a few upsets so you should never feel safe.

So far, Miyazaki has claimed his first win against the previously undefeated Hoshino.
The BIG upset of the night though, "K-Taro" gets KOed by Kim just 59 seconds into the fight.

I will update results as they are available to me.

11/8 Cage Force Valkyrie 01 EX - RESULTS

GCM had their first Valkyrie, all female MMA event today. There were 6 fights on the card. A good mix of experienced and new talent. Hopefully they can build of this event and it will be interesting to see going forward.

Of the fights on the card, I think there were couple that got more attention than the others. Roxanne Modaferri was meant to fight in AFL facing Tara Larosa today, instead she was fighting Chisa Yonezawa here in Japan. I hope she is able to get more fights in Japan, and it looks like there should be options going forward with Valkyrie and JEWELS both fighting over the female talent.

SmackGirl champion, Yuka Tsuji was fighting in the SmackGirl Cinderella tournament winner, V Hajime.

Of the fights on the card today, only one didnt go the distance.

For personal reasons, I was not able to get to this event, but I will try to get to the next one.

Yuka Tsuji Def. V Hajime by Decision 3-0
Naoko Omuro vs. Yasuko Tamada DRAW
"Windy" Tomomi Sunabe Def. Emi Fujino by Decision 3-0
Roxanne Modafferi Def. Chisa Yonezawa (?) by Decision 3-0
Madoka Ebihara Def. Akiko Naito by armbar Round 1 2:45
Mamiko Mizoguchi vs. Sakura DRAW

11/8 Cage Force Eastern Bound EX - "K-Taro"'s Opponent Announced

Thursday, 30 October 2008

GCM have announced 2 more fights for their event on November 8. Well, they have 2 events that day, kicking off with the debut of Valkyrie followed by Eastern Bound EX late in the afternoon.

The fights announced today are for the Eastern Bound card. And "K-Taro" now has an opponent. You should never underestimate a fighter, but I would be surprised if "K-Taro" lost to Jang Yong Kim…

Also added is an interesting fight between the Cage Force talent Daisuke Hoshino and Naoto Miyazaki. Miyazaki has not had much luck so far in his Cage Force career, his loss was a disqualification though, so he will be trying to get his first win this time.

I think that would complete the card for this event.

Added today:
Keita Nakamura "K-Taro" 15-3-2 vs. 1-2-0 Jang Yong Kim
Daisuke Hoshino 4-0-0 vs. 0-1-1 Naoto Miyazaki

The card:
Hidetaka Monma 13-8-4 vs. Andore Mafetoni (??)
Yasuhiro Urushitani 14-4-6 vs. 0-0-1 Kiyotaka Shimizu

11/8 Cage Force - EX Eastern Bound - "K-Taro", Monma and Urusitani Fighting!

Wednesday, 15 October 2008

Ok, I have had a rather boring week... But suddenly everything is happening at once. Cage Force has announced the card for the "other" event on November 8. This event will follow the Valkyrie event that is happening earlier in the afternoon. This is a "EX Eastern Bound" event, that means cheaper tickets but these events have provided some good fights in the past. This card looks very good though.

Participating is DREAM fighter and UFC veteran, Nakamura "K-Taro", Hidetaka Monma, Yasuhiro Urushitani and Kenji Osawa. Taken off the card is the Bantamweight semi-final between Takeya Mizugaki and Taiyo Nakahara. Nakahara is still injured and Mizugaki will advance to the final and meet Masahiro Oishi

I don't expect many more fights on this card (2, maybe 3), but it looks very good already.

Hidetaka Monma 13-8-4 vs. Andore Mafetoni (??)
Yasuhiro Urushitani 14-4-6 vs. 0-0-1 Kiyotaka Shimizu
Kenji Osawa 13-8-2 vs. 9-4-5 Tomoya Miyashita
Yukiya Naito 13-4-2 vs. 1-0-0 Alex Silva
Rikuhei Fuji 3-2-0 vs. 6-5-4 Takenori Sato
Keitaro Maeda 2-3-1 vs. 14-4-3 Hiroki "Goodman" Tanaka

Participating:
Keita Nakamura "K-Taro" 15-3-2
