Tetsuya Suzuki was a very late but good replacement against Fujiwara. It looked for a little bit that Fujiwara was going to take it.

James Doolan came out fighting and was very aggressive early on. He wanted the fight standing, but eventually Uematsu got him to the ground.

I had very high expectations to Ryota. He did not deliver, probably due to an eye injury early on. His fight with Nakahara was a little disappointing.

But in the second round things changed, didn't get any pictures of it, but Oishi got McVeigh's back and the Irishman was unable to shake him off.

5/3 Shooto - Road to 20th Anniversary - "MACH" Fighting

Hayato "Mach" Sakurai is today confirmed on this card. Shooto is putting on something special here to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and this card is looking awesome.

Sakurai is taking on Frenchman David Baron in what will surely be one of the highlights on this card.

4/5 Cage Force 06 - RESULTS

Apologies for being late with these. It was a very good event, even though there were lots of last minute changes they put together a very good card.

Paul McVeigh didn't win his fight, but the first round was definitely his. Oishi is a very good and experienced fighter and managed to defend himself well in that round. James Doolan was the better fighter as long as the fight was standing. He didn't want the fight to go to the ground, but Uematsu caught a leg an manged to get a quick submission.

In the main event, Hirota was the stronger and he is now the new Cage Force Lightweight champion.

Just so its mentioned, Tsurumaki is now 0-10. It was not a very good fight and easy to see why he has that record, but one of these days he will get a victory...

Future Fighters

Ok, Nightmare of Battle had this awesome post a few days ago. It really got me thinking about who are the best fighters under 25, in other words the next generation. NOB has pointed out Kirill Sidelnikov, Shoji and Kwang Hee Lee.

For mine, I think there are lots of talent out there. But I would like to add 3 names to the list, just because I think they deserve it.

Simeon Thoresen (24) 6-0-0 - Norwegian, trains with Joachim Hansen (who is quick to point out this young man's talent). Simeon is currently undefeated in Ultimate Worrior Challenge, look for him to make a move to a bigger organization soon.

Eduardo Dantas (19) 4-1-0 - His only loss is by disqualification. This 19 year old kid fights out of Nove Uniao and beat BJ Kojima at Shooto - Back to Our Roots 6, he was very impressive in that fight, a good tactical win. He is a featherweight, so I look forward to seeing him back in Japan. Currently most of his fights are in his home country, Brazil. Look for this kid to make a big impact in Shooto soon.

I have been unable to find any of his fights, I used to have one but its been removed.

Shinya Murofushi (24) 4-0-1 - This guy makes Shinya Aoki look fat and muscular. But it also makes him very call for his weight division. At 1.70m (5'7) he weighs about 52kg (115lbs). Last year he got promoted to A-class shooto fighter and he should have a bright future at flyweight in Shooto.

4/5 Cage Force 06 - The Card is Final

After a lot of changes, the Cage Force card is now final. All the fighters made weight today. The bad news is that they were unable to find an opponent for Antonio Carvalho. Should still be a very good event though.

Still, lots of fights to look forward to. Personally, I really look forward to seing James Doolan and Paul McVeigh, who has made the trip over from Europe. They are also the only non-Japanese on the card now. Just so its said, Paul McVeigh is fighting 39 year old Masahiro Oishi who's nickname is Jackal! Just thought Fightlinker fans would like to know that. I am a Fightlinker fan, but for this one I am cheering for Paul McVeigh.

Of course, we can't forget about the title fight personally, I think Hirota will take it.

Ryota is a bit of an unknown and I really look forward to see what he can do in this tournament. Other fighters to look for: Tetsuya Suzuki, Yoshihiro Koyama and Wataru Miki. Just to mention a few.

Also just to mention it, Nobuhiro Tsurumaki is 0-9 this is his chance to improve on his record or will it be an even 10.

DREAM 2 and 3 Fights Announced

DREAM has made their decision regarding the outcome of the controversial JZ vs. Aoki fight. There will be a re-match in DREAM 2. The winner of this will get to fight 2 less than 2 weeks later in the quarter final. Sounds unfair? Well, the opponent will be Nagata, who is the weakest link in my opinion.

5/18 Sengoku 2- Randleman and York added to May event

Sengoku has updated their web-site with 2 more participants for their May event.

Kevin Randleman was announced at Sengoku 1, but "Big" Jim York will be new to a lot of fight fans.

York has an impressive record in Japan, Australia and Korea with 9-1-0, his 3 last fights were in MARS and all decided in the first round. He is a heavyweight, so the quality of opponents is always a question in Japan. He is on a 9 fight winning streak, so this should be a deserved step up in level of opponent.

4/5 Cage Force 06 - Fujiwara has his opponent.

Looks as if Cage Force has found an opponent for Fujiwara. This fight is now a non-tournament fight against Tetsuya Suzuki. It will be a good fight Suzuki is a very experienced opponent, and it should be an entertaining fight.

Now I only hope they can find someone to fight Carvalho in 3 days....
