Sengoku To Cancel their NYE Event?? - Official (?)
Saturday 14 November 2009
Bloodyelbow is reporting that Sengoku is cancelling their plans to compete with Dynamite! It seems instead they will join forces!
Late Tuesday night, multiple sources informed BloodyElbow.com that World Victory Road has decided to cancel its New Year's Eve "Sengoku Raiden Championship" show at Tokyo's Ariake Coliseum.
It seems these are no more than rumors yet, but there seems to be at least a couple of sources.
It looks like this is now official.
I am starting to doubt if this source is reliable... Zach Arnold at FightOpinion is though, and he has this article. As far as an official announcement, I guess we have to wait and see.

This headkicklegend needs to find a trailer, and the hat that some Egyptian king wore.
Why is everyone in MMA a fortune teller? WVR had a hard time finding an audience, or a network deal. The question is why. The crap zach arnold dreams up doesn't suffice.
WVR is really up against it here, Dynamite have a HUGE tradition in Japan, and I think that was the thing here. They would not be able to compete with that. Even if they had Ishii vs. Yoshida.
I think it is just that simple.
For those that havent read Zack's post:

The so called "source" headkicklegend refers to actually states the contrary; that "it is only a rumour and I refuse to comment". And mentions none so ever of the "K-1's Tanigawa went in front of the press today and announced that on New Year's Eve K-1 and World Victory Road would co-promote"
Ofcourse, the tone of Tanigawa does hint that negotiations are ongoing, and I do personally believe it's a matter of time; But NOTHING HAS BEEN FINALIZED YET.
The headkicklegend guy needs to be slapped badly me says....
