2/14 SmackGirl - World ReMix Tournament 2008

Saturday 9 February 2008

This is the fight setup for SmackGirl on Valentines Day. Su Hi Ham is the last fighter in the Lightweight tournament. The Korean could cause problems for most of these fighters as long as the fights don’t go too much to the ground. Her most notable win was against Hisae Watanabe, a fight which was mostly fought on their feet.

The openweight tournament sees the addition of Tama-chan and Megumi Yabushita (both on a 4 fight losing streak). No doubt they will be looking to put a stop to the losing streak.

Should be a very good event!

Openweight Tournament Fights:
Hitomi Akano 11-5-0 vs. 13-13-0 Megumi Yabushita
Atsuko Emoto 1-1-0 vs. 16-13-0 “Tama-chan” Keiko Tamai

Lightweight Tournament Fights:
Megumi Fujii 13-0-0 vs. Cindy Hales 1-0-0
Kyoko Takabayashi 8-2-0 vs. Anna Michelle Tavarez (?)
Ayumi Saito "EDGE" 8-4-0 vs. Lisa Ward 10-3-0
Saori Ishioka 4-2-0 vs. 2-2-0 Su Hi Ham

Discovery Fights:
Masako Yoshida 13-12-5 vs. 2-1-0 Asami Kodera
HARUMI 0-6-0 vs. Megu

The tournament schedule is as follows:
2/14 Opening round
4/25 Semi-finals
7/24 Finals

Am I seriously reading this right that they have a 0-6 fighter fighting for them, and 16-13 and 16-16 fighters fighting for them, AND THEY HAVEN'T BOOKED ROXY MODAFFERI?

This is sheer insanity.

You are right... Roxy has alreay won againts Yabushita twice (lost once), she has also beaten Tama-chan. To be honest, I think the problem is finding enough good fighters.

Both Yabushita and Tama-chan did not have great 2007's.
