9/12 Shoot Boxing - Pictures
Saturday 13 September 2008
Last night's Shoot Boxing event was very good. It was the first time for me to go to Shoot Boxing, but it wont be the last. Korakuen Hall was packed and it was a good night of fights. This picture is from the fight between Hirokaki Suzuki (red gloves) and Yoshiki Harada. Suzuki won the fight, but it was a good and close one.
Megumi Fuji doesn't normally compete with these rules, and even though she showed that she knows how to throw a punch, Misato Tomita proved to strong on the night.
Takanori Fujiwara didnt get the result he wanted against Shimada. In the end Fujiwara got tired and Shimada took advantage of that.
Buakaw's pupil, Pajunsuk, was very strong and knocked his opponent down 3 times in the first round earning a quick TKO win.
Ishikawa was better than Crazy Hill in their fight.
Title fight of the night was for the Super-Bantamweight belt, between Noriyuki Enari and the late replacement Akito Sakimura.
It was a very close encounter, the judges needed 2 extra rounds to seperate the fighters. In the end Noriyuki Enari (blue gloves) got the decision.
Australian Jason Scerri didnt get the result he wanted against "KO" Ogata. Scerri was trying to land powershots (superman punches and flying knees), but in the end Ogata was able to counter and got the TKO win.
The main event was between the 2 Shoot Boxing stars Kanei (blue gloves) and Shishido. It was again a very exciting fight, but Shishido proved the stronger. He eventually opened a cut over Kanei's left eye and the judges awarded him the win.
