Good Fights from 2008 - Merry Christmas!

Tuesday 23 December 2008

I have the poll going to get the fight of the year 2008. But there have been other fights that didn't quite make it into my poll.

It is also a chance for me to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

It's been a quiet day for news, that's because its a holiday in Japan today. I expect the Dynamite card to be just about finalized tomorrow, until then here are some fights from 2008.

From Shooting Disco 5, a fight I really liked. Atsushi Takeuchi vs. Noboru Tahara.

Suggested as one of the fights to be added (unfortunately I was unable to...). Was the fight from Shooto Tradition 1, Rumina Sato vs. Akitoshi Tamura.

I know everyone have seen this fight... But looks like it will be the clear winner in my poll, and for good reason. Joachim Hansen vs. Eddie Alvarez.

One fight that made it into my poll, but some of you might not have seen... Daiki Tsuchiya vs. Hidenori Nishino. This is from Shooting Disco 4, February 23.

Pancrase put on some very good card in 2008, one of the fights I really enjoyed was the Light-Heavyweight titlefight between Ryo Kawamura and Keiichiro Yamamiya.

Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

Another fight from Shooto, this time Tradition 3. Shintaro Ishiwatari vs Tenkei Fujimiya.

I love watching fighters that give everything, and Hideo Tokoro is a guy that always does. The fight between Darren Uyenoyama and Hideo Tokoro was definately one of my favorites this year!

From DREAM 3, Caol Uno vs. Mitsuhiro Ishida. A fight that sparked a lot of emotion amoung Japanese fans and fighters.

The last fight in my poll, Eddie Alvarez vs. Tatsuya Kawajiri.

I hope you enjoy these fights, and I am sure 2009 will add even more good fights and events! I can't wait!
