2/23 K-1 World Max 2009 - Japan Tournament Participants Announced!

Monday, 8 December 2008

FEG have announced some participants for February's World Max tournament event, and there is a surprise in there. I was not expecting Andre Dida to come back here and not in DREAM. Dida can do both, I just prefer to see him fighting with MMA rules. But I guess the money is better in K-1 and FEG likes fighters to do both.

It is a solid card and other than Dida, no big surprises.

Participating:
Yoshihiro Sato
Yasuhiro Kido
Taishin Kohiruimaki
HAYATO
Kozo Takeda
Yuya Yamamoto
Andy Ologun
Buakaw Por. Pramuk
Drago
TATSUJI
Andre Dida
...and more

I spoke with Kultar Gill (Black Mamba) about the whole MMA/kickboxing thing. He said that in the FEG contracts, you are under contract to FEG and not a specific sector of the company. That means FEG can assign you to fight in K-1 or DREAM, which is why you see random MMA guys doing kickboxing for no apparent reason.

Of course, you can decline the fight if you want, but that is how he said it works.
